Have you ever experienced QiGong?
This training can be traced back to ancient China where it was used in their traditional medicine. It is used to: promote longevity, for preventive medicine, self-healing, as meditation, as exercise, recreation, and in martial arts training among other things.
We are proud to announce that Ordained Daoist Priest and Master of Medical QiGong Therapy, Christina Barea, will be holding classes on Wednesdays at 5:00 at ASHA.
If QiGong is new to you, Christina has a F.A.Q. (frequently asked questions) page on her website(www.therisinglotus.com), where she explains "Qigong is a term used to describe a large variety of meditations, exercises, breathing techniques, life habits, healing modalities, treatment protocols, spiritual beliefs and more. It includes qigong as an exercise and qigong as qi-emission therapy. Under the category of Chinese energetics that are related to qigong we also find feng shui, Chinese astrology and Taoist practices to name a few. The actual definition of qigong is "the practice of energy cultivation over time". Additionally there will be Medical QiGong available in our wellness center and there will be the opportunity to learn more about QiGong in our Asian Body Therapy Program as a part of the core curriculum!
